You probably know the expression 'Go big or go home', which means that you should always try to to your best. The literal German translation would be: 'Geh groß, oder geh nach Hause.' As a German native speaker and a translator I would get fired immediately if I worked for a German company. To avoid this kind of blunder, transcreation is a useful method, because it combines translation and content creation/copywriting. Transcreation is often used for translations in the marketing world, such as slogans or ads, especially for international campaigns to ensure that the content aligns well with the target audience and that the original meaning of the source language does not get lost.
